Most payments reach the vendor in about 2 business days. A payment from your Cleo Pay balance takes 1 to 2 business days. A payment straight from your linked bank takes 2 to 3 business days, because the money moves from your bank into Cleo Pay first and then out to the vendor.
Arrival times
Business days are Monday to Friday. Weekends and bank holidays don't count.
| Where the money comes from | Standard | With same-day ACH |
|---|---|---|
| Cleo Pay balance | 1 to 2 business days | Today or the next business day |
| Your linked bank | 2 to 3 business days | 1 to 2 business days |
You pick where the money comes from each time you pay. Paying from your balance is the faster of the two.
Same-day ACH
You don't choose same-day ACH on a payment. It's switched on for an account as a whole, and when it's on, Cleo Pay uses it on its own for every payment up to $50,000. Payments over $50,000 go by standard ACH.
A same-day payment sent after 1:45 PM ET arrives the next business day. If you want to know whether same-day ACH is on for your account, email support@cleo-pay.com.
Scheduled payments
You can schedule a payment from your linked bank for any day from tomorrow on. It goes out at 9:00 AM ET that day, and the arrival times above start from then. Payments from your Cleo Pay balance go out right away and can't be scheduled.
Why a payment can take longer
- The vendor hasn't added a bank yet. The payment shows as Held, and nothing reaches the vendor until they accept your invite and add a bank account. Cleo Pay releases the payment on its own once they do, and the arrival time starts then.
- The bill is still waiting for approval. Nothing is sent until everyone in your approval workflow has approved it.
- Your account is new. Payments turn on after a quick call with our team, and the app shows a banner until then. You can set up your account and add bills in the meantime.
- It's a weekend or a bank holiday. A payment from your balance sent on a Friday can arrive as late as Tuesday.
For vendors: when will my money arrive?
You get an email from Cleo Pay when a business sends you a payment. The subject line tells you the amount, who sent it and when to expect it. If you haven't set up Cleo Pay yet, follow the link in that email first. The money is released to you once your bank is added. See Someone paid you through Cleo Pay: what to do.
If the expected date has passed and the money isn't in your account, email support@cleo-pay.com with the name of the business that paid you and the amount.
